Marlin game fishing Cairns welcome

Fly fishing is not only one of the fastest growing methods of fishing in the world, it is also one of the oldest with its own history of rules, traditions, techniques and skills.

Cairns and its surrounding areas offer a wide variety of perfect fly fishing scenarios and due to the increased demand for this style of fishing we now have many expert guides who, with great skill, tackle everything from freshwater, river and estuary species through to bluewater species on the Great Barrier Reef.

Experience full day, overnight or extended, fully guided charters through some of the most breathtaking rainforest this area has to offer. The fast flowing streams and the mangrove areas within North Queensland are home to some of Australia’s most sought after light tackle species including the famous Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, Queenfish, Trevally and rainforest stream species such as Jungle Perch, Sooty Grunter and Tarpon.

Saltwater fly fishing is one of the biggest challenges left on the bluewater and is certainly one of the fastest growing facets of saltwater fishing.

Black Marlin and Sailfish are fly favourites and all other species targeted with conventional tackle can be caught on the fly. Talented Australian Skippers and Guides hold many recent World Record captures on the generous small Black Marlin found here in the winter and spring months - (10 to 16 weight tackle).
